Our Story

Distinctive Stays started with a simple idea: create places we'd genuinely want to stay ourselves.

We're Kim and Dave, a husband-and-wife team who love being near the water, exploring new places, and spending time with the people who matter most. Over the years, that love grew into a collection of homes in two places that have become especially meaningful to us—Saugatuck, Michigan and The Villages, Florida.

Each of our properties has its own personality. Some put you right in the middle of downtown, others are made for long days by the pool or water, but they all have one thing in common: we want them to feel comfortable, memorable and easy to enjoy.

We're not a big hotel company or a collection of cookie-cutter rentals. These are places we know, use and care about. We've chosen and designed them with the things we appreciate when we travel—great locations, comfortable spaces, thoughtful details and room to actually settle in.

For us, the best trips are about morning coffee by the water, dinners that run late, discovering a favorite local spot, laughing with family and friends, and making memories you'll still be talking about years later.
